Sort by "newest first" sometimes wrong?
Hi All: Occasionally I notice that when viewing my inbox (RC8), using the default sort order of "newest first", old messages will appear out of sequence (see screencap). Usually it's a message that I did see in its original time frame, and suddenly it pops back up at the top of the list. Changing the sort to something else and then back again does not fix the problem.

Re: Sort by "newest first" sometimes wrong?

IMAP supports two types of date sorting, one based on the date header and one based on "arrival date" which the IMAP server manages internally. We use the arrival date by default because usually it is the most efficient method. If you change the sort order to "Newest first (header date)" does the problem go away? Also what IMAP server are you using?

Thanks for the feedback,
Jason
