Stupid question about initial installation

Sorry, but I am mystified.  I think I followed all of the instructions for customizing and generating the hastymail2.rc file, but when I try to log in, it wants a username and password.  Where is this defined? The values for the IMAP server do not work, and my login on the hosting system does not work.  What is it looking for?

Thanks

Re: Stupid question about initial installation

The username and password are for IMAP server logins. Since that is not working something must be wrong with the IMAP configuration or the login credentials. Some suggestions:

- Double check your config file for typos in the IMAP server section
- Check the site_append_login_domain setting. Some IMAP server require the username to be user@domain.com instead of just the account username
- Enable the show_imap_debug option in the config file. Rebuild your rc file, then try to login again. Scroll down below the interface and there should be some IMAP server debug information that might explain the problem.

I have found that if the login attempt fails immediately it is likely to be a connection problem with the IMAP server. If the login attempt takes a few seconds to load the failure page then it will probably be something other than an IMAP server connection issue.

If you need help with the IMAP debug info and don't want to post it in the forums feel free to send it me at jason@hastymail.org and I will try to help.

Thanks for the feedback, hope some of that helps,
Jason
