Hello,
I have a wildcard email address (e.g. example-*@example.com will reach me). I give different email addresses to different companies so I can track what they do with my email address.
When I write mails I'd like to be able to edit the email address that is in the "From" field on the fly.
Creating a different profile for every email isn't practical because I literally have hundreds of different addreses in use.
With Thunderbird, this functionality is available as part of the "Virtual Identity" plugin.
Is there any chance this feature will make it into Hastymail²?
Could this be written as a plugin? I think the best way to do this would be to use a nice html javascript widget that looks like a traditional select box, but allows editing. I found one of those at http://www.dhtmlgoodies.com/index.html?whichScript=form_widget_editable_select (click "demo" in the top right corner to see it in action).
Thanks.
A plugin is definitely the way to go on this. I will add this request to the tracker and see what I can do.
Thanks for the feedback,
Jason
