Hi Sailfrog,
Not sure if I have settings wrong or this is a bug.
If I type a message in plain text using normal paragraphs, then save it to Drafts, when I resume it has loads of extra line/carriage breaks which I have to remove manually before resuming editing - and I always seem to miss one!
Am using plain text and with 'fixed' text format selected in compose.
The action I would expect is on resuming the text would be word wrapped as before I saved.
If you think it's a bug I will put it in the Tracker. Am using todays version of the SVN on a windows/apache/firefox machine.
Cheers,
Oli
I noticed a problem with resumed drafts such that lines end up getting wrapped one additional time but only when they are very close to the maximum line length. For example a line that looked like so:
pretend this is a line that is almost 78 chars long
Would end up looking like this after resuming the draft:
pretend this is a line that is almost 78 chars
long
does this describe what you are seeing as well? or are you getting even more new lines inserted?
Jason
Yes sometimes it looks like:
pretend
this a line that is almost 78 chars long
Have raised a bug in the tracker and included an image of an email with the extra spaces identified. I cant see an obvious delimiter but I don't know how it decides on the insertion of newlines.
very strange. I will play around with it and see what can be done.
Thanks for the feedback,
Jason
Intersting - have just typed the random paragraph below into hastymail and then saved it as a draft and resumed it.
It started looking like this:
Once upon a time fkjdpofk sdofk dkdf psdofkdsofk d fpowkf ef efk f kopfkfkoef
wefk f dkf sdf sdfkdopf kdopfkdofklkf f skdfl df sdfk s;df sdf sf sdp ejwej ioff
djf dfd fsiod f.d fdf wffjdk dklfj oij df lksjd fslkdjf s .s dfsd
fsiodfjsdijfsdlkfjsdkjflsdfjs
After saving it still looked like this:
Once upon a time fkjdpofk sdofk dkdf psdofkdsofk d fpowkf ef efk f kopfkfkoef
wefk f dkf sdf sdfkdopf kdopfkdofklkf f skdfl df sdfk s;df sdf sf sdp ejwej ioff
djf dfd fsiod f.d fdf wffjdk dklfj oij df lksjd fslkdjf s .s dfsd
fsiodfjsdijfsdlkfjsdkjflsdfjs
When I resumed editing it look like this:
Once upon a time fkjdpofk sdofk dkdf psdofkdsofk d fpowkf ef efk f kopfkfkoef
wefk f dkf sdf sdfkdopf kdopfkdofklkf f skdfl df sdfk s;df sdf sf sdp ejwej
ioff
djf dfd fsiod f.d fdf wffjdk dklfj oij df lksjd fslkdjf s .s dfsd
fsiodfjsdijfsdlkfjsdkjflsdfjs
Not sure why though.
But if I cut and paste it into notepad - it returns to this again:
Once upon a time fkjdpofk sdofk dkdf psdofkdsofk d fpowkf ef efk f kopfkfkoef
wefk f dkf sdf sdfkdopf kdopfkdofklkf f skdfl df sdfk s;df sdf sf sdp ejwej ioff
djf dfd fsiod f.d fdf wffjdk dklfj oij df lksjd fslkdjf s .s dfsd
fsiodfjsdijfsdlkfjsdkjflsdfjs
I think this is what you were describing originally - and is slightly different but may be related to what happened in my emails.
It is a weird problem, and one that I have attempted to correct more than once. I have not had time to get back to it but I should soon and will let you know. Thanks for the thorough follow up info.
