Viewing HTML e-mail

Hello, I'm wondering how to make HTML e-mail viewable automatically. Right now its breaking it down in parts.

Thanks,

-gabe

Re: Viewing HTML e-mail

I am not quite sure what you mean. HTML messages that have embedded images that are included in the message as attachments should display properly, and the image attachments will also be listed in the message parts area (since they are in fact separate attachments). You can set the "view HTML parts by default" setting on the options page to display HTML versions of messages rather than plain text assuming the message has both. If you can send me a screenshot of what you are experiencing that would help. You can send it to jason@hastymail.org.

Thanks for the feedback,
Jason

Hello Jason,

Even though I played with the options it still happens that the images do not display inside the message itself. This could just be user error, either way I cant figure it out. I've e-mailed you also as requested.

Re: Viewing HTML e-mail

Gabe,

There is a specific format that HTML messages follow in order to include images that are also attached to the message.  We could have a bug in the way that is being handled that results in the problem you are having. I did not receive the email example yet, could you resend it?

Thanks for the feedback,
Jason

Jason, I re-sent the e-mail from another e-mail address. Let me know. Thanks, -gabe

Jason,

Not sure if you got my e-mails or not, but in case you didn't here is an image of what is happening.

So really the question is, how do I make it be viewable inside the message.

Thanks again.

Re: Viewing HTML e-mail

Unfortunately I have not received the messages you sent. I can see from your screenshot that the embeded images are not showing up but without the actual raw message I can't troubleshoot the problem correctly. The main thing I need is the raw message text for the above example (which you can get from the Hastymail2 "raw view" link). So if you are unable to email to me (jason@hastymail.org) maybe you could post it online somewhere (minus any headers you would not want posted of course). Thanks for the continued feedback. If I can reproduce this in my own environment I have no doubt that I can fix it.

Jason,

You can find the output of 'Raw View' here: http://pastebin.com/m52741ba8 - let me know what else I can do to help.

Re: Viewing HTML e-mail

Gabe,

Thanks for posting the raw view output. Now I know why it is not working as expected :). The message is not actually an HTML email. It is a text email with an attachment of type of "inline". Hastymail2 supports embeded images in HTML messages but we currently don't support displaying the inline attachment types along with a text message part. I will look into adding support for this before the next release.

Thanks for the feedback,
Jason
